Board Meeting – June 25, 2005
At The Carl Meyer Farm

Board Members Present
Don Davis, Dianne Smith, Jerry Smith, Jim Hill, Carolyn Hill, Tom Pachinger

Board Members Absent
David Keehn, Mark Stallings, Jack Johnston

Agenda

  • Insurance
There has been concern over liability issues for our pollination efforts on private as well as Forest Service Property.  The Tennessee Chapter got a General Liability Policy to cover injury at meetings and such and the board also got an Umbrella Policy to cover any other suits that may arise from injury while working with trees in the field.  Carolyn will contact the insurance agent in Tennessee to find out more about their policy.

  • Bucket Truck Expense
Carolyn Hill will contact local Ellijay members and area tree services to obtain a 65' bucket truck for the Fowler tree.  It was discussed, but with no decision, how to handle the expense of rental of a truck since the treasury was low on funds.

  • Forest Service Permissions
Tom Pachinger is checking with Mark to see if he contacted the Forest Service by letter before he left and what the status of any release work is.  If Mark did nothing, then we'll go from there, but don't want to duplicate his efforts.
